Protect your PC during startup

When you turn on your PC, it goes through a startup routine before all programs, including Personal Firewall, become fully operational. During this time, some of the programs on your PC might attempt to access the Internet. Unless you protect your PC during startup, those programs are allowed access. This can be a security risk.

When you set Personal Firewall to protect your PC during startup, you prevent programs from accessing the Internet without your permission. Programs that try to access the Internet during startup are blocked.
Task
1 Open the Firewall settings page.
2 Click Smart Advice and Advanced Settings.
3 Select Enable protection during startup.
4 Click Apply.
