Set up Attack Detection

Most attacks are targeted at vulnerabilities in the operating system of your PC, which can develop especially when you are not receiving regular updates to your operating system. Default settings for Personal Firewall include automatic detection for the most common intrusion attempts, but you can increase your protection by selecting specific intrusion attempts for Personal Firewall to detect.

In some cases, turning on automatic detection for specific attack types can cause Personal Firewall to block data that is not supposed to be blocked.
Task
1 Open the Firewall settings page.
2 Click Attack Detection.
3 From the list of attack types, select one to change its detection settings, then click Edit.
4 Pull down the Detect (attack name) menu, and do one of the following:
To... Do this...
Detect the attack type Select Yes.
Ignore the attack type Select No.
5 Click Save.
6 To configure another attack type, repeat steps 3 – 5. You must configure each attack type separately.
