In some rare situations, you might want to turn off Personal Firewall temporarily. For example, you might need to turn Personal Firewall off while you troubleshoot an issue.

Open the Firewall settings page.

On the Home Page, click Firewall.

Click Settings.

Click Turn off.

In the confirmation window, decide when to restart Personal Firewall by clicking the arrow next to When do you want to resume Firewall?. The default is 15 minutes.

Click Turn off Firewall.
 | When you turn off Personal Firewall, your PC becomes vulnerable to threats, and your protection status on the Home Page is "at risk." You can tell McAfee to ignore the problem by clicking Ignore in the status bar, but you should restart Personal Firewall as soon as possible to protect your PC from security threats. |
