Create a vault

You can create a new vault any time with the Create a Vault Wizard. When you create a new vault, it is locked by default.

1 Open File Lock.
2 From the toolbar in the right pane, click Create.
3 In the Vault Name field, type a name for the vault.
4 To create a vault on a removable media drive or another location:
a Click Advanced, then click Browse.
b Locate and select the removable media drive on your PC, then click OK.
5 Select the size of your vault.

Create a vault between 50 MB and 4 GB Use the slider to select the size of your vault.
Create a vault larger than 4 GB Click Advanced, enter the vault size, then click OK.
You can create a vault of any size as long as you have sufficient space on your hard drive. You cannot change the size of your vault after you set it.
6 In the Password field, enter a password, enter it again in the Confirm Password field, then click Next.
7 Select whether to lock your vault.
Select... To...
Unlock Unlock your vault so you can start adding files.
Leave Locked Secure your vault immediately.
8 Click Finish to create your vault.
