Part of choosing the security that works best for you is deciding how you want to manage alerts and respond to them. Alerts appear when Personal Firewall detects an intrusion attempt, unwanted network traffic, or suspicious activity from incoming or outgoing Internet connections. By default, the security type is set to Smart Access, which allows known programs to send information to and from your PC.
