Run a manual shred

You can run a manual shred directly from Windows Explorer to quickly delete an item. You can also delete multiple items at the same time.

You cannot shred a network folder, CDs or DVDs, or the folder associated with your Windows operating system. If you right-click one of these items, you do not see the Shred option.
1 In Windows Explorer, select and right-click the item(s) you want to delete, then click Shred.
To select more than one item, hold the CTRL key while selecting.
2 In the confirmation dialog box, click Shred.
