McAfee Help

Install McAfee protection on remote PCs

If a PC on your network is not using a current version of McAfee protection, you cannot manage its protection status remotely. You might receive a notification that one or more PCs on your network are not protected, but you can also use the network map to see the unprotected PCs on your network. A PC without current McAfee protection installed does not have a shield in its icon.

To manage the security status of a PC remotely, you must install a current version of McAfee protection.

When you log on to the PC that you want to manage remotely, you will need the email address and password you used the first time your McAfee software was activated.

1 On the PC that you want to manage remotely, open a browser window, log on to the McAfee website, then click My Account.
2 Find the product you want to install, click its Download button, then follow the on-screen instructions.
