Setting up File Lock

The first time that you use File Lock, the wizard helps you create your first vault and set security questions that let you reset your vault password.

Set up File Lock to:
Create a vault that is associated with your Windows user account.
Let all of your family members create individual vaults that are associated with their Windows accounts.
Lock files in password-protected vaults on your PC.
If your other family members use your Windows user account, they can see and delete your vaults, but cannot access the files stored inside.
McAfee recommends creating unique user accounts for each person in your household to minimize the risk of anyone deleting your vaults by accident. To learn how to create new user accounts in Windows, read Windows Help and Support.
