Blocking and restoring Internet access

You can block Internet access instantly by selecting the Lockdown security type.

Lockdown has the same effect as physically disconnecting the network cables on your PC: it makes all incoming and outgoing traffic between your PC and the Internet impossible, including access to websites, email, and security updates. You might need to do this if you suspect that a program on your PC is sending or receiving malicious data and you want to protect other PCs on your network. You can restore Internet access to your PC by selecting any of the other security types (Smart Access, Monitored Access, and Stealth).
Set the security type to Lockdown
You can select the Lockdown security type to block all incoming and outgoing traffic between your PC and the Internet. You might need to do this if you suspect that a program on your PC is sending or receiving malicious data and you want to protect other PCs on your network.
Restore Internet access
After you set your Personal Firewall security type to Lockdown, you can instantly allow traffic between your PC and the Internet, as well as any network it's connected to, by selecting any of the other security types.
