When you turn on your PC, McAfee checks for threats depending on whether you want it to check for the most common threats, or all known threats.
If you check for the most common threats, your PC startup time is faster than normal, because McAfee checks for the most common threats that can put your PC at risk. If you check for all known threats, your PC startup time is slower than normal, because McAfee checks for all known threats that can put your PC at risk.
