Rename a device or change its type

You can view devices on your network for detailed information, and you can edit that information to specify the device's name and type.

Renaming devices helps you personalize your network map, and quickly identify the devices you're managing. Specifying a device's type makes it easier to identify from the network map by giving it a descriptive icon. For example, when you specify a device as a gaming device, the network map represents it with an image of a game controller.

Access the network map.

How?

Select the device that you want to edit details for.

Click Edit details.

In the Name field, type a new name for the device.

Pull down the Device Type menu, and select the device type for your device.

Click Save.
