Prior to downloading .DAT file updates, please take a moment to verify the version and scan engine of your current McAfee retail VirusScan product. To verify the scan engine of your McAfee product, open the McAfee VirusScan program from the "Start/Programs/McAfee VirusScan" Menu and click Help > About.
Please Note: If you have a 2.x scan engine version 2.5.4 or older, or if you have a 3.x scan engine version 3.0.0, McAfee recommends upgrading your McAfee product's scan engine to the latest version before updating your .DAT files.
