• | Using the Home Page Before you begin using your McAfee software, review the features and navigation tools you will use to protect your PC. |
• | Fixing protection problems Your McAfee software reports critical protection problems as soon as it detects them. When a critical protection problem is detected, a notification is displayed in the protection status area on the McAfee Home Page. |
• | Working with alerts Alerts appear on your screen to let you know when security events occur on your PC. An alert provides information about an event, as well as recommendations and options for resolving security problems. You can also control which alerts appear (for example, you can hide informational alerts), and decide if the McAfee splash screen appears on startup. Since alerts are an important part of your McAfee protection, you cannot disable them. |
• | Viewing your security history Your McAfee software gives you a detailed look at all security events that occurred on your PC since you installed your software, as well as the state of security and threats around the world. |
• | Checking the threat map Look at the threat map to see active threats in your region and around the world. |
