Set a scheduled scan

A scheduled scan looks for software updates on a regular basis – so you don't have to. By default, Vulnerability Scanner runs once a week, but you can change this schedule to suit your needs.

1 Open Vulnerability Scanner.
2 Click Scheduled scan settings.
3 Select a scan schedule and how often you'd like it to run. If you create your own scan schedule, you can define the day of the week, and the time in hours and minutes.
Scheduled scans do the work for you. However, if you want to run scans yourself, select Don't set a scan schedule. Remember to run a custom scan regularly so your PC stays up to date.
4 Select whether you want Vulnerability Scanner to automatically install all updates after every scan.
5 Select the type of updates to include in the scan – Windows updates, program updates, or both.
6 Click Apply.
