If your PC uses the Windows 8 operating system, your Start screen includes a Metro-style tile for your McAfee software, and can also include a tile for the McAfee Metro app, McAfee Security Advisor.
McAfee Security Advisor is downloaded and installed separately from your McAfee software. Like all Metro apps, you can interact with the app tile by using your mouse or keyboard, or by touching the screen.

McAfee Security Advisor is separate from your McAfee protection software. It provides security status updates from your McAfee software while giving you access to the McAfee software Home page. The McAfee app doesn't provide virus or malware protection. Think of McAfee Security Advisor as a doorway into the McAfee security system on your PC.
When you touch or click the app tile, a McAfee Security Advisor screen opens that:
