When your device will be used by someone other than you, you can turn on repair shop mode to lock the files in your My Documents folder, and all your Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Money files, and Intuit Quicken files.
| Certain file types in My Documents can't be locked, including .amv, .mgv, .jnt, .jtp, .mov, .mpeg, .mpeg4, .exe, and .tmp.

Log in to the
Intel® AT Service Web Management Console.

From any device, log in to
My Account with your My Account email and password.

From the
Device Protection tab, choose your device and click
Go to Web Console.

Make sure your device is in normal mode.

Click
Settings, then
Other settings.

Under
Repair shop mode, select
Start repair shop mode.

Click Save.
| Before your device can save the changes, it must first connect to the Internet and sync with your account. This can take several minutes. If you want to sync now, open
Intel® AT Service from your device's desktop and click
Sync on the Home Page.

When you're ready to stop repair shop mode, log in to the web console, and then click
Return to normal mode.
